County Cup

The winning Bowood team, Liz Mason, Janet Bailes, Bob Cookson and Martin Cole receive the trophy from County President, Jerry Gegg.

After a lively group discussion on the role of the County Union and Association on golf development in Wiltshire 21 teams from Wiltshire clubs contested the County Cup over the beautifully presented Hamptworth course. With a score of 94 points in the Bowmaker competition the team from Bowood emerged 4 points clear of hosts Hamptworth and Kingsdown.

Liz Mason, in accepting the trophy thanked the Hamptworth Club and all of the staff who had worked so hard to make the day a success. Bowood will represent Wiltshire next year in the English Club Team Championship to be played during English finals week.
