LGU / R&A Merger

The LGU and the R&A are expected to complete their merger by the end of 2015.Governance issues are reaching an agreed conclusion.

Consequently the £2.50 levy paid by female golfers will end by 2017. The LGU have asked for the levy to continue into the first year of their merger.

The R&A will invest into the woman’s elite championships whilst the LGU Championships Ltd will continue to be responsible for teams etc.

A formal notification to Associations is expected in early 2016.
