Val McFarlane (Kingsdown) wins the Pakeman Cup

WLCGA COUNTY SENIOR LADIES CHAMPIONSHIP

This event was hosted by West Wilts Golf Club on Tuesday 26th July. Forty-four ladies representing Sixteen clubs took part. Val McFarlane (Kingsdown) won with a Gross score of 83.

West Wilts proved to be challenging on the day with undulating and sloping fairways a couple of testing bunkers and greens that were true but fast. The weather was an added bonus staying warm and dry with little wind throughout the day.

Division 1 players found the 4th hole a real teaser - there were no winners for Nearest the Pin! However Lynn Thornton (Kingsdown) won Nearest the Pin for handicaps 20 to 36 on Hole 9.

The Pakeman Cup was won by Val McFarlane (Kingsdown) with the runner up being Caroline Sadler (Tidworth Garrison).

The Wadworth Challenge Cup was won by Marion Titt (West Wilts) with Lynn Thornton (Kingsdown) being runner up on count back from Denise Adlington (Kingsdown).

The winner of the Hutchinson Cup 70+ years was Marion Titt (West Wilts) and the runner up was Wendy Ducker (Ogbourne Downs).

The raffle organised by Pat Traves raised a total of £105.10 for the Junior Girls Fund.
