Wiltshire Golf
The Ladies Spring Meeting was held at Salisbury & SW on Tuesday 16th April. Eighty-Seven ladies representing 11 Clubs took part. On the day the weather was a mixture of drizzling rain for the early starters, followed by a overcast warm and windless afternoon.
Ladies were rewarded with running fairways, quick, testing and true greens. The CSS on the day was 74.
Winner of the Scratch Cup was Anne Ferguson (Ogbourne) with a gross score of 79, runner up with a score of 80 was Katie Dove-Medows (Kingsdown).
North Wilts ladies took the top three positions of the Handicap Cup for Division 1, with Sue Minchin winning with a score of 70, Irene Tomkinson’s 72 and Kate Brown’s 73.
The Dorothy Dykes Cup for Division 2 players was won by Chippenham ladies taking the top three positions. The winner was Margaret Schoffield with a score of 94, Vilma Chapman and Christine Davis coming second and third.
The Taunton Handicap Cup for Division 2 was won by Margaret Schoffield (Chippenham) with a score of 69. Christine Davis (Chippenham) and Lynn Thornton (Kingsdown) were second and third.
The Peggy Mackenzie Trophy was won by Chippenham ladies: Anne Fisher, Trudy Feltham, Margaret Schofields and Christine Davis, with a combined net score of 294.
Nearest Pin for Division 1 was won by Loretta Christy-Clover (Rushmore) and Division 2 was won by Julie Bennett (Salisbury & SW).
The raffle which was organised by Marion Oliver raised a total of £ 226.00
