WLCGA Autumn Foursomes and Lumley Foursomes

The WLCGA Autumn Foursomes and Lumley Foursomes was hosted at a dry, but windy Upavon on Wednesday 6th September. Twenty-two pairs representing eleven clubs took part.

The course at Upavon played extremely well, with quick, running, slopping fairways and fast testing greens. Dense rough, that caught any stray balls, provided a challenging test to all those that took part!

The results on the day were close; Karen Gosling (Marlborough) & Carol Main ( Chippenham) won the Glendinning Cup on count back from Keeley Clayton & Marion Skinner (Salisbury & South Wilts) with a gross score of 88.

The Hart Cup was won by Hilary Cargill & Hilary Marsh (Chippenham) with a nett score of 75.6, with Anne & Emma Stradling from the home club runners up with a nett score of 76.5.

The Lumley Foursomes were won by Hilary Cargill & Hilary Marsh (Chippenham) with a stableford score of 32 points.

Special thanks were said to the WLCGA President Pauline Hawkins who will be standing down as President at the AGM in November of this year. Pauline has faithfully attended and supported all the events throughout almost three years as President.
