Jake Reigns Supreme at Kingsdown

Thankfully the torrential rain that accompanied the Junior Team Shield at Wrag Barn 3 days previously was replace by blazing sunshine as the WCGU Boy's Championship took place at a magnificently presented Kingsdown Golf Club.

With fast greens and tricky pin positions scoring was at a premium in the first round, but Max Mulcock (Wrag Barn) mastered the conditions with a fabulous 71, which gave him a 2 shot cushion over Jake Bolton and Dom Burgess (Salisbury & SW).

However, in the afternoon sunshine, Jake strode away from the field with a fantastic 2 under par 70, to win by 6 shots from Jamie Cooper (Bowood) whose level par 72 gave him second place ahead of Dom Burgess on countback.

2nd Jamie Cooper 77/72/149 (CB)

3rd Dom Burgess 73/76/149
