WLCGA County Bowmaker 2017

High Post GC hosted this years County Bowmaker on Tuesday 21st August with one hundred and eleven ladies from seventeen clubs taking part. This included a team incorporating 3 of our Junior Girls: Seona Mauchline ( Junior Girls Captain), Ashleigh Thorne and Hattie Dunn, they finished sixth overall and had plenty of fun throughout the day!

The weather at High Post was mixed - drizzly rain for the early starters and then warm, humid conditions for those out later in the day. The course played extremely well and the greens were running true, rewarding accurate putts.

On a lighter note the ladies encountered the most rural of aromas throughout the day courtesy of the local farmer who had recently treated his fields.

The winners of the Bowmaker were Annie James, Kate Brown & Valerie Elmes ( North Wilts) with a score of 83 points on count back from  Keeley Clayton, Marion Skinner & Sharon Collins from (Salisbury and South Wilts).

Longest Drive for Division 1 was won by Ashleigh Thorne (Wrag Barn) and Division 2 was won by Candy Garrett (Hampthworth).

Nearest the Pin for Division 1 was won by Ali Grandison (Chippenham) with Candy Garrett (Hampthworth) winning Nearest the Pin for Division 2.

The raffle which was organised by Marion Oliver, it looked spectacular, raised a total of £286.00
