On Sunday 1st October, Bowood hosted the final of both the Scratch and Handicap Knockouts. After heavy rain throughout the week, the course was wet underfoot in places and there was the constant threat of rain.
However this did not affect the quality of golf in both knockouts with deciding matches going all the way to the 18th green.
The Scratch Knockout took place between Kingsdown and High Post.
High Post proved to be stronger on the day winning by 3 matches to 2.
Kingsdown were also finalists in the Handicap Knockout and took on Hamptworth; this time round Kingsdown ladies were victorious - again with several close matches (one even going to 19 holes). Kingsdown won by 3 matches to 2.
Throughout the day, players were cheered on by numerous supporters from all four clubs.
The teams then were treated to a well deserved coffee, tea and cake.
The Foursomes Knockout took place on Tuesday 3rd October and was hosted by Salisbury and South Wilts, the reason for this being that one of the pairs was from Bowood.
This match was between Janet Bailles & Viv Monument (Bowood) and Bridget Cartwright & Lynne Chivers (Upavon). Once again it was a closely fought, with Janet Bailles & Viv Monument winning on the 20th hole.
