Wiltshire Ladies Victorious over the Royal Navy Ladies!

Wiltshire County Ladies vs Royal Navy Ladies Golf team was a new fixture in the calendar this year. The format was 4 x foursomes matches in the morning followed by 8 singles matches in the afternoon, all off scratch. The Wiltshire team knew they would have a tough match on their hands as the RN Ladies are the 2022 UK Armed Forces Champions and the current Royal Navy Sports Team of the year.

The morning foursome matches were very closely contested with some exceptional golf being played, but the match was all tied at the lunchtime break.

With it all to play for in the PM session combined with the fabulous weather and playing conditions, everything was set for great match!

Wiltshire secured a narrow victory 7-5 overall against the Royal Navy team. This was great preparation for the Inter County Match Week with highly competitive matches being played. Thank you to Wrag Barn GC for hosting this match, the course was in exceptional condition and the catering was excellent. Also to the Course Marshals who kindly started the matches! We look forward to a re-match in 2025!
