Wiltshire Juniors Shine in the South West
It has been an amazing year for Wiltshire Junior Golf with our Under-16 & Under-18 Boys winning their respective Channel Leagues, and our Girl's performing really well in Inter-County match week during which they won 1 and halved 2 of their 5 matches.
The Under-18 Boys also went on to lift the South West Championship and represented the region at National Finals week in Lincolnshire.
Key to the girl's success were Millie Potter (Chippenham) and Lauren Cowley (Broome Manor), both of whom have now been selected to be part of the England Golf South West Coaching squad for 2026. Lauren has done amazingly well and was awarded the prestigious Most Improved Player award at our end of season event, whilst Millie won four of her 5 matches in ICMW.
Two of our boys elite team have also been selected for the England Golf South West coaching squad - Jack Mawer (Broome Manor) and Riley Banks (Wrag Barn). Both players represented the County at the EG National Finals week, competing with credit against boys who were 3 years older then them. Jack is a previous winner of the SW Under-14 Championship and Riley made his debut for the County this year.
All 4 players deserve huge congratulations for their hard work and dedication - competition for places in the South West Squads is intense and we look forward to seeing their progress throughout 2026.
