The third event in the inaugural Winter Series was held at Tidworth Garrison, in conditions that can only be described as 'glorious' and 'springlike'!
The course was in amazing condition, especially when considering the weather that we have had over the past 3 months. Firm, dry fairways combined with fast, true greens meant that conditions could not be better for great scoring ... However, a blustery win made sure that players didn't have everything their own way.
Nearest the pins were won by Stephen Case (Marlborough) on the 2nd, Mark Walker (Wrag Barn) on 5, Dave Simpson (Bowood) on 11, and Dennis Blackley (Erlestoke) on the tricky 13th.
The final results were extremely close. Fifth place went to Broome Manor pair of Steve Ballard & Nigel Wright on countback with 39 points, with 4th/3rd place being contested by Adrian Sugden & Paul Jardine (Marlborough) and Aiden Bell & Dennis Blackley (Erlestoke), who both scored 40. The Erlestoke pair won on countback, which also came down to the back 9. Stephen Case & Stephen Park came second with 42 points, but Wrag Barn pair Mark Walker and Scott Talbert came out on top with 20 points on the second 9.

Its all to play for with only 2 events left in the regular season - there is only 1 spot left for Kingsdown on the 19th March, and a few at North wilts on the 10th April. The individual Order of Merit won't be calculated until after the 5th event, as it is open to those players who have participated in at least 3 competitions, but with different partners.
We are also pleased to announce another 2 events on the Calendar next year with Upavon & Rushmore joining the roster which will mean at least 8 chances to play new courses, and to win!
Finally Wiltshire Golf would like to extend a massive thank you to Chloe Boissel-Marshall, Paul McNicol, and all the staff at Tidworth Garrison Golf Club for an amazing day. The course was in stunning condition, and the welcome we received was second to none. On to Kingsdown ...
